Time to Try: TOASTIQUE

Staying in-the-know on all new and cool things in Sarasota is sometime we love to do & to share with you! When it comes to living in paradise, cute little places like downtown's new(-ish, it opened last summer) Toastique remind us that Sarasota is a foodie haven. We recently paid Toastique a visit to see what it was all about and were pleasantly surprised with just about everything.

What is Toastique?

Located around the corner from our lovely Douglas Elliman downtown office, Toastique is a gourmet toast and juice bar. When you think of toast, you probably aren't thinking big enough for what they do at Toastique. These toasts are more like open-faced sandwiches (aka tartines), and they are the perfect size for a light and healthy lunch, especially paired with one of their cold-pressed juices.

Toastique is located adjacent to the breezeway of The Mark facing State Street, and it's open from 7am to 5pm. We loved the clean & airy design and hipster vibe of Toastique. In addition to their toasts, which run the gamut from elevated avocado toast to smoked salmon toast (both pictured above) to other fun combos like the fruit-and-PB mix that is the Peanut Butter Crunch toast, Toastique has smoothie bowls, juices, coffee, smoothies, and wellness shots.

At Toastique, you order at the counter and then your food is brought out to you. It's faster than the sit-down restaurant but just as tasty!

What's the verdict?

Toastique gets our recommendation, full stop. This was an adorable place to grab a light business lunch, a mid-morning snack, or your post-workout recovery meal. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked fresh and yummy, and we both loved our toast. We also enjoyed the cold-pressed juice, which are pressed fresh daily. They have three varieties of green juice, an interesting-looking activated charcoal juice (softened by coconut water & agave!), a turmeric/orange juice perfect for an immuno-boost, and a couple other cold-pressed juices on rotation - we plan on trying others!

Anything else we need to know?

We definitely recommend this place, and the drawback isn't one we consider to be a dealbreaker, but we wouldn't be your go-to insiders if we didn't give you the whole truth. Skip the coffee. It's not the best, and Toastique's other liquid options are far superior. ;-)
