We all know that Sarasota has great beaches (duh!), amazing cuisine (yum!), and one of the only thriving malls in the USA (it's true though 😛), but did you know we also have a thriving mystical community? It is just another interesting aspect of our vibrant area. Worth a Visit: The Kadampa Meditation Center

If you've ever seen this ornately carved, gold-topped building while heading north from downtown on 301, you've probably wondered what the heck it could possibly be. It is, in fact, the Kadampa Meditation Center, a Buddhist temple right here in Sarasota. "But I'm not Buddhist!" you say, and I say in return: you do not need to be Buddhist to stop in for one of the Kadampa Center's numerous talks on topics such as generally being a better human being, finding inner peace, and how to stop the cycle of negativity in your own mind. Of course, they also offer open meditations in one of their peaceful interior spaces or outside in the garden if you just need some time and space for quiet reflection.
